About the Artist
Born and raised in Northern Kentucky, Shane Coppage has been creating art in one form or another since a toddler. Following his graduation with a degree in Fine Arts, he started out as an illustrator, but settled into abstract painting after surviving colon cancer. His current work focuses on ghosts, which are either in the form of portraits created with rice paper and collage or sculpture paintings utilizing wood ash and plant roots. Both explore the impact emotion has on the concept of self and how that haunts our collective past, present, and future. Coppage lives in Fairfax, OH with his growing family.
